October, 2012. Raleigh-Durham, NC: Whole Foods Store. Owner: Regency Centers.
Specifications: 12,000 Gallon steel storage tank. Project by Welcor Development.
This storage tank stores rain water from the roof of the building as part of an overall site storm water mitigation system. This is the first development in Raleigh-Durham that collects, retains, re-uses and mitigates 100% of the storm water produced by the 22 acre site. Through various additional storm water mitigation storage tanks and infiltration technologies, the system will handle 350,000 gallons of storm water during any single rain event.
The water collected into this 12,000 gallon storage tank is re-used for various needs inside the Whole Foods Store.
